What is Waterproofing?

When you are doing grouting first remove the excessive adhesive applied on the surface. When it is done, apply grout with the help of a rubber squeegee. Leave it for 2 hours. With the use of a damp sponge clean the grouting.

What is a movement joint? What are the types of it?

The space between two tiles which are not grouted is called a movement joint. This allowsthe tile floor movement. There aretwo types of movement joints. Field and Perimeter movement joints.A grout joint that is left ungrouted is called field movement joint. It extends from wall-to-wall. They can be filled with a flexible sealant that matches the grout colour.When you place a tile next to the wall, there should be a gap. The gap is called the Perimeter movement joint. It is the space between the tile and the wall that is left ungrouted. It doesn’t get filled by anything, but caulking is filled in it sometimes.

What is the reason for leakage ina tile shower?

If you are unable to find the leakage source, then you should check if the leakage is in the grout between the tiles of the shower. Visually inspecteach part before and after the grout dampens. Remember that you are looking for a missing grout. A small hole in an existing grout can also cause leakage.
